5 Best and Amazing Skills That You Can Learn During Lockdown (or Quarantine) Imposed Due To Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The whole world is suffering from a global pandemic and the government has imposed lockdown in your town and you are under self-quarantine sitting idle and getting bored. You have spent many precious hours in watching videos, playing games but that still isn't enough. Your life seems horrible and you need to do something more out of your life in order to kill that damn feeling. So the question arises, "What can I do in this time?' Don't worry, we have the answer to that particular question of yours.

The best thing you can do is to learn new skills! Yup, you read it right, you need to stop wasting your time, get yourself up and look at this notion other way round. There is a positivity hidden in this crucial time. Let me explain how.

All you have now is a lot of time! And you can utilize this time in adapting and pushing yourself to new heights by giving yourself challenges. That you keep you motivated and your whole focus would now be concentrated on that particular task. And there is a magical thing attached with it, that is, time would fly by and you won't even be aware of it. No more boredom! Moreover, these skills will enhance your personality and charm as well. In the near future, who knows, these skills could get you hired or get you promoted. Maybe you would fall in love with this newly learnt skill and you may even start your own business. Who knows! Let's grab this opportunity offered to us by Mother Nature and human negligence.

1. Developing Reading, Analysing and Comprehension Skills :

This is the most neglected section we all avoid doing all our life. You might even ask what is so beneficial in it. Let me give you an example to explain its importance.

Once, when you were born, your brain memory was mostly blank. In the same way as a newly bought smartphone. You started visualising and analysing things around you. You learnt to make gestures and even speaking,  just by these two tools. A part of your brain even paved a way for another tool to open and that tool was comprehension. These three tools developed you as a whole. During these beginning just 2 or 3 years, you learnt so many skills that were essential for a lifetime. Then you started attending school, at that place, you interacted with a new medium of learning i.e. books. These books speeded up your learning rate and developed your brain as a whole. It gave you the power to become logical and take your own decisions. Such huge is the importance of these books.

There are a ton of books available on the internet. Choose your taste and start reading them. Get yourself up and suck the knowledge they provide you. Either you read beautiful poems, biographies, science-fiction stuff or novels, read them passionately. And maybe someday, you could write such things yourself. Who knows, you could be the next great author or poet.

2. Start a Blog :

The world has advanced technologically and is well connected like never before. Every individual can connect with a larger section of the world merely by using the internet. Everyone is born with some taste in something. You can grab this opportunity and make the world aware of your views and ideas about that taste. All you need for doing that is a platform and that platform is blogging. Some of you might start thinking that you need to learn some computer programming languages like HTML, JavaScipt in order to create a blog, but that is not the case. A lot of websites provide free or paid access to blogging and we need not to learn those special languages. We just need to focus on the taste we have, brightening up ideas based on that taste and finally sharing that on a blog and let the world know. You can even have a passive income from these blogs. I have started this blog just a week ago and this is my fourth blog post. The key to blogging is rich content and patience.

3. Learning Coding :

The world is becoming digital day by day. Handling tasks have become much easier now. Have you ever wondered how these tasks are done so easily? Have you ever wondered how smartphones understand our text or vocal instructions? How do games work? What is Artificial Intelligence(AI)?

If you get fascinated by these questions then the coding is the key for all your questions. These all things are handled by programs which are just a set of written words in some special pattern. These set of written words and pattern are called Programming Languages. There are a lot of programming languages such a Pascal, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML and many more. There are a lot of free and paid courses available on different platforms. Grab one.

4. The Art of Cooking :

No one can survive without food. It is the most essential thing we need for survival. Everyone loves eating some particular stuff. You might have ordered that online or your mother might have prepared it or you might have visited some restaurant. The question arises, why can't you learn making that thing yourself! You can get help from your mother or you can surf the internet for the same. A lot of recipes are available online. Why not try making one?

5. Subjective Skill :

When we were a kid, we all had some aim. We all wanted to become professional in a field we had an interest in, but, with changing time, our direction changed and so did our aim. We ended up becoming something else but we still have a craving for that childhood dream. That thing could be playing guitar, piano or something else. We could use this time in learning that new skill, practising it and quenching our childhood desire.

There are a lot of things you learn but for doing so, you need to have a clear vision and you need to be a man of words. If you like these ideas, share it with others. Happy learning. :)
